In addition to academic research, I also undertake occasional commercial research and consultancy projects, applying social and behavioural science to applied problems. These can take many forms: Extended programmes of consumer research with thousands of respondents; reports on specific areas of scientific knowledge, bespoke advice on proposed products or communication strategies, or one-off meetings and talks.

My consumer research has examined decision making processes, product evaluations, purchasing heuristics, attitude measurement, and many other areas.

Previous clients include two of the major high-street banks, a large insurance company, one of the UK's largest retailers, and government departments.
